This is a very good edition of John Steinbeck's classic novel, which contains numerous full-page and vignette illustrations by American illustrator Wesley Dennis, who is best known for this work and for his illustrated edition of Anna Sewell's 'Black Beauty.'
Bound in gray cloth over boards with a picture of a pony with a dark green border. Beautifully illustrated endpapers with the publisher's blue stain on all edges of the text block. Light soiling to the boards, bottom edges slightly bumped and frayed. The previous owner's name is inked on the ffep. A hint of foxing on a few pages.
