Lance "Lot" Thackeray (1869 - 1916) was an English illustrator known primarily for his comic sporting illustrations involving billiards and golf and for his many humorous postcards. When he was over 30, he spent some winters in Egypt and produced humorous sketches, which he collected in The Light Side of Egypt (1908).

Book Condition: Good- Dust Jacket: None. The boards are gray-clothed with a pictorial front cover and lettering in gilt. The boards are soil with foxing and markings on the back cover. The board's edges are rubbed, and the corners are frayed. The spine is soiled with rubbing. The text block is tanned and with foxing on the edges. The front endpaper has the owner's inscription. There is page bumming on the bottom margin of the front pages. A few torn pages were fixed near the middle of the book. The binding is cracked throughout. The pages are otherwise unmarked.
