The book is in the original Victorian pictorial cloth with a gilt title on the cover and spine. The boards have signs of shelf wear, bumping, and rubbing to the edges. There is also shelf wear to the upper and lower spine with a slight spine lean. The text block is age-tanned with heavy tanning on the margins. The text block is cracked on pages 235 and 255. The previous owner's inscription is on the front free endpaper.
