Victorian Embossed Leather Photography Album / 1876

A beautiful 19th-century large Victorian brown leather-bound embossed photo album with a metal clasp, cabinet photo inserts, gilded edges, and floral decorations. The album contains 56 photos and 9"x11.5"x2.5". This c148-year-old album was a gift to M. A. Crook from his wife on his 30th birthday with original family portrait photographs.

Album Condition: Very Good. The boards and spine are rubbed with shelf wear and bumping. I used archival-level leather restoration to bring it back to life. It is otherwise beautiful for its age. The metal clasp is functional and is still secure on the boards. The photo block edges have rubbing. There is some damp staining on the inner pastedown and the free endpaper. The photo frame pages contain foxing, dirt stains, minor ink marks, bumping, fraying, and small tears. The cabinet cards (photos) vary in condition; please review the images for additional details. The pages are sewn in, and the binding is secure.
